Pakistani authorities have begun evacuating citizens from Iran following recent attacks. Pakistani Ambassador to Tehran, Mudassar Tipu, confirmed the operations and provided updates on the situation.
He said that a significant number of Pakistanis have already been brought back to Pakistan. Most of the evacuees include individuals who temporarily reside in Tehran and its surrounding areas. Ambassador Tipu noted that the overall number of Pakistanis in the capital is relatively low.
The majority of Pakistanis living in Iran are permanent residents. Many of them are concentrated near the Sistan region. Tipu highlighted that the embassy is coordinating with local authorities to ensure the safe return of these citizens.
In addition to ordinary citizens, families of the Pakistani diplomatic staff are also being repatriated. Tipu assured that embassy operations continue without interruption, providing support and guidance to Pakistanis remaining in Iran.
The ambassador emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to protect Pakistani nationals during the escalating regional tensions. Pakistani officials are closely monitoring developments and are in constant communication with those affected.
Efforts include arranging flights, coordinating with Iranian authorities, and ensuring that all Pakistanis, whether residents or temporary visitors, have access to assistance. The embassy has urged citizens to stay calm, follow official guidance, and remain in contact with diplomatic staff for updates.
