Opposition leader has responded to the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for in camera briefing and demanded that entire parliament should be taken into confidence on regional situation and Pak-Afghan tension.
Opposition Leader Mahmood Achakzai has demanded a security briefing in Parliament. We have been told that the Prime Minister has called for a briefing. Our position is that the briefing should be given to the entire Parliament, not to specific members.
Achakzai said, “Opposition were told to make this point there in front of the Prime Minister. I said that we will consult with my colleagues”.
Achakzai said It would be better to give the briefing in a joint session of Parliament or at least in the Senate. The situation in the region is dangerous. Parliament should be taken into confidence.
Achakzai said that the government will be informed about the decision tomorrow morning.
