Pakistan Army destroys 50 militant hideouts near border

The Pakistan Army continued to carry out operations against Afghan Taliban and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), security sources said.

According to security sources, the Pakistan Army has destroyed 50 hideouts belonging to Afghan Taliban, Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan during the ongoing operation.

The sources said the forces conducted heavy-weapon strikes during the night between March 3 and March 4.

Effective operations were carried out in the Qilla Saifullah, Chaman, Sambaza, Ghadwana, Jani and Ghaznali sectors, the sources added.

Security sources said these locations were being used for carrying out cross-border terrorist activities.

The operations have resulted in heavy human and material losses for Afghan Taliban, Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan, according to security sources.

The Pakistani military successfully targeted Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, satellite images obtained by The New York Times showed, during its ongoing operation against the Afghan Taliban.

According to the report, four residents in Bagram said they had heard at least two explosions at the base shortly after 6am on Sunday. Three of them also heard the sounds of at least one jet.

Satellite images show that at least one aircraft hangar and two large warehouses in the northern part of the base were destroyed.

PM Shehbaz holds telephonic conversation with Turkish president

 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday, during which Erdogan said Turkiye would “contribute to the re-establishment of the ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan.”

The Turkish Presidency, in a post on X, said the leaders also discussed bilateral ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, as well as regional and global issues.

“Condemning the terror attacks carried out in Pakistan, President Erdogan said Turkiye will continue to stand by Pakistan in its anti-terror fight, and that it will contribute to the re-establishment of the ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan, reached through Turkiye’s initiatives as well,” the Presidency said.
