Russia-made weapons seized as Pakistan Army destroys Taliban posts in Zhob Sector

Pakistan Army’s ‘Operation Ghazab Lil Haq’ against the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij continued on Wednesday, forcing the latter to retreat, leaving their weapons behind.

Security sources said that the army targeted Afghan Taliban’s post number 1 and post number 2 in Zhob Sector along the Pakistan-Afghan border.

Sources informed that the army seized Russian-made heavy grenade launchers from the positions left vacant by the Taliban.

They said that the operation would continue till all objectives were met.

On Tuesday, 24News TV channel reported that Pakistan’s armed forces had carried out effective strikes and counter-operations against the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij in the Arandu and Kurram sectors along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

According to the security sources, Pakistani troops launched a timely operation in the Arandu and Kurram sectors, destroying several key posts and operational centers.

Security officials said the Pakistani military was specifically targeting hideouts and military installations associated with the Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij.

Frequent incidents of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan forced the army to launch an operation against the Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij.

The situation became more alarming when an imambargah was targeted in Islamabad, resulting in the deaths of several people.

Despite several attempts made by the government of Pakistan to convince the Taliban to stop Fitna al-Khawarij from operating from the Afghan soil, the desired results were not achieved and the TTP continued to carry out attacks against Pakistani forces with complete impunity.

Separately on Tuesday, joint search and combing operations were conducted in Attock, Murree and Jhelum due to security concerns.

During the operations, nine illegal Afghan nationals were arrested.

Five Afghan nationals were detained in Murree, and cases were registered against them under the Foreigners Act.

Two illegal Afghan nationals were arrested in Attock, where cases were filed against them under the Tenancy Act, officials said.
