Jemima Goldsmith, the former spouse of Imran Khan, has expressed concern over delays in her sons’ travel to Pakistan. She claimed that the government is urging them to travel on National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) instead of regular visas.
Jemima said this would leave her sons, Sulaiman and Kasim, without British protection in case of legal issues upon arrival. She shared her concerns on the social media platform X, responding to remarks made by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar.
The minister had earlier stated that Imran Khan’s children could visit Pakistan using NICOP, which does not require a visa. He also emphasized that they must fully comply with Pakistan’s laws during their stay.
Jemima criticized the suggestion, pointing out that her sons do not currently hold NICOP cards. She highlighted that their visa applications, submitted in January, have not been processed despite normal processing taking 7–10 working days. She said the delay has extended to 60 days.
She further noted that Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and the Prime Minister’s spokesperson had previously assured that her sons could safely travel to Pakistan. Jemima said these assurances have not been fulfilled.
Sulaiman and Kasim live in London with their mother and wish to visit their father, who is imprisoned at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Jemima claimed that the delays appear deliberate and prevent her sons from reuniting with their father after four years.
Earlier, her sons had also raised concerns about the visa delays, stating that the government was intentionally refusing to process their applications. The family has reportedly applied for both visas and NICOP in August 2025, but approvals remain pending.
Officials maintain that NICOP remains an available travel option. The government has not indicated any immediate resolution, leaving the family in uncertainty.
