Two new PSL teams make league more exciting, says Mark Chapman

The Pakistan Super League is heating up like never before, and New Zealand all-rounder Mark Chapman believes the addition of two new teams has taken competition to a whole new level. Speaking during a training session in Lahore, Chapman shared his excitement about returning to the PSL and competing once again on Pakistan’s vibrant cricketing stage.

“I’ve been looking forward to coming here and playing again. The level of local talent is incredible,” Chapman said. He pointed out that young fast bowlers regularly bowl over 140 km/h, adding immense strength and intensity to the league.

Switching franchises also brings fresh experiences, he noted. After enjoying a memorable season with Quetta Gladiators last year and reaching the final, Chapman is eager to make the most of his new stint with Islamabad United, alongside fellow New Zealander Devon Conway and under the captaincy of Shadab Khan. “Pakistan has left me with great memories, and I’m sure more good times are ahead,” he said.

Chapman also praised Babar Azam, highlighting his technique and experience. “He knows his game, but sometimes it’s about mindset. His consistency is remarkable, and adapting quickly is key,” he added.

Looking ahead, Chapman shared his international focus. While the T20 World Cup is two years away, his immediate attention is on the upcoming One Day World Cup in South Africa, followed by tours in Australia and New Zealand.

As PSL 11 kicks into gear, Chapman emphasized staying focused on each match and building momentum. With two new teams raising the stakes, fans can expect more thrilling cricket, fierce rivalries, and unforgettable moments both on and off the field.

Competition isn’t just rising — it’s reaching an all-time high.
