China supports Pakistan’s mediation role in Iran ceasefire push

BEIJING: China has openly supported Pakistan’s efforts to help secure a ceasefire in the ongoing tensions involving Iran, highlighting growing diplomatic cooperation in the region.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Beijing appreciates Pakistan’s constructive role in encouraging dialogue and promoting peace. She expressed hope that all sides involved would seize the opportunity to reduce tensions and move toward stability. According to her, China welcomes every effort aimed at restoring calm and believes disputes should be settled through talks rather than conflict.

Mao also praised Pakistan’s active diplomatic engagement, stressing that peaceful negotiations remain the only effective path to long-term stability in the region.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, said Pakistan’s mediation efforts have reached a sensitive and important stage. He noted that the initiative is based on goodwill and serious diplomacy aimed at ending the conflict.

Earlier, Iran’s state news agency reported that Tehran had shared fresh peace proposals with Pakistan to help ease tensions with the United States. An Iranian delegation presented the recommendations after nearly two weeks of discussions and internal consultations within the Iranian leadership.

The latest developments suggest increasing diplomatic activity as regional and global players work to find a negotiated solution to the ongoing crisis.
