Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), chaired the 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
The meeting began with Fateha offered for the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The forum paid tribute to their contributions and stated that their sacrifices remain central to Pakistan’s national security framework.

The COAS expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness and professionalism of the armed forces. A detailed review of the internal and external security situation was conducted during the session. The forum reiterated its resolve to take decisive action against terrorist networks and their facilitators. It emphasized that operations against such elements will continue without interruption until safe havens are eliminated and the misuse of foreign soil for cross-border terrorism is effectively addressed.
The conference also acknowledged the government’s diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the Middle East. It called for restraint, dialogue, and peaceful engagement, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to supporting regional stability through principled diplomacy.
Expressing concern over recent attacks on petrochemical and industrial facilities in Saudi Arabia, the forum described such incidents as escalatory and detrimental to peace efforts. It noted that continued restraint by Saudi Arabia, despite provocations, has helped sustain diplomatic channels, and warned that further escalation could undermine ongoing peace initiatives.
The forum rejected what it described as persistent disinformation and false narratives attributed to India, stating that such claims have been widely discredited. It also raised concerns over reported human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including allegations of staged encounters and extrajudicial actions.
In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir directed all commanders to maintain high levels of readiness, professionalism, and adaptability. He expressed confidence in the armed forces’ ability to effectively respond to any threats while safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
