Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has welcomed the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, praising the leadership in Tehran, Washington, and Islamabad for their tireless efforts in reducing tensions.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Bilawal said that both the United States and Iran had made a crucial decision to step back from the brink of escalation by choosing dialogue over destruction.
The PPP chairman expressed deep appreciation for the leadership of both countries for opting for restraint at a critical moment.
He also commended the persistent diplomatic efforts of leaders in Tehran, Washington, and Islamabad, noting that their engagement helped create an environment conducive to de-escalation and meaningful dialogue.
Bilawal remarked that Pakistan could take pride in demonstrating wisdom, determination, and an unwavering commitment to peace during the crisis.
Describing the ceasefire as a significant opportunity, he said it allows the region to move toward recovery and step away from the shadow of a wider war.
He expressed hope that the agreement would not remain a temporary pause in hostilities but instead mark the beginning of a durable and lasting peace.
Bilawal further emphasised that such peace should promote stability, strengthen cooperation, and pave the way for shared prosperity not only for the region but for the wider world.
