Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has commended Pakistan’s leadership for its active diplomatic role in efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and restoring peace in the region.
According to an official statement issued by the Iranian Embassy in Pakistan, Araqchi held a telephonic conversation with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir. During the call, the Iranian foreign minister expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s sustained and effective diplomatic engagement, which he said contributed positively toward efforts to bring an end to ongoing hostilities.
Araqchi highlighted Pakistan’s “constructive and responsible” approach, noting that Islamabad has consistently supported initiatives focused on regional stability, peacebuilding, and ceasefire arrangements. He emphasized that such efforts have played an important role in easing tensions at a critical time.
In a separate statement, the Iranian foreign minister extended his gratitude on behalf of Tehran to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir. He acknowledged their persistent diplomatic outreach and commitment to fostering dialogue, which he described as instrumental in pushing forward peace efforts.
The remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic initiatives in the region, where multiple stakeholders are working to maintain a fragile ceasefire and prevent further escalation. Analysts view Pakistan’s involvement as part of its broader strategy to support stability and cooperation in the region through diplomatic channels.
