Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that Pakistan has achieved a unique position in the world and has emerged as a strong advocate of peace on the global stage.
Speaking on the occasion of a meeting with Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi, Nawaz Sharif termed the ceasefire between Iran and United States as a positive development for global peace. He said Pakistan played a responsible role and contributed significantly to efforts aimed at de-escalation and stability.
He praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Army Chief Asim Munir for their outstanding diplomatic efforts. He added that under Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, Pakistan achieved remarkable success on the diplomatic front.
Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan has played an active and positive role in promoting peace in the region. He welcomed the shift of Iran and the United States toward dialogue and negotiations, emphasizing that global conflicts should be resolved through diplomacy rather than war.
He further stated that Pakistan has once again sent a strong message of peace to the world. According to him, the current government has improved Pakistan’s global image, and its efforts will serve as a milestone in bringing stability to the region. He urged the international community to take advantage of this opportunity for lasting peace.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s long-standing stance, Nawaz Sharif said the country has always advocated peace, development, and stability. He expressed hope that the ceasefire would lead to permanent global peace and added that Pakistan has proven its ability to play a constructive role even in challenging circumstances.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also praised the leadership, stating that sincere and unprecedented efforts by Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir played a key role in achieving peace. She said Pakistan’s historic efforts helped make the “impossible possible” and credited the leadership of the United States, Iran, and Muslim countries for contributing to peace.
Maryam Nawaz further claimed that Pakistan’s leadership helped avert a potential large-scale global conflict and that the country has now emerged as a central force for peace in the world. She expressed hope that these efforts would lead to sustainable peace and that future conflicts would be resolved through dialogue and negotiations.
