The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel have arrested 16 terrorists during 113 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Punjab, it was reported on Tuesday.
A spokesman of the Counter-Terrorism Department said that one arrested terrorist, who was later identified as Ghazi Marjan is a member of the banned terrorist organization Fitna Khawarij and is a suicide bomber from Jhang.
He further revealed that intelligence-based operations were conducted due to terror threats in Khushab, Mianwali, Rawalpindi, Jhang, Bhakkar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Chakwal, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, and Gujranwala.
Earlier in March 2026, the Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have arrested 36 suspected terrorists belonging to various banned organisations in province-wide operations in February.
Those arrested included two dangerous suspected terrorists of Fitna-al-Khawarij from Faisalabad and Jhelum, recovering heavy explosives and weapons, according to a press release issued by the CTD.
