Actor and religious speaker Hamza Ali Abbasi has spoken about a past controversy in which he says he faced strong criticism and accusations after a statement made during a podcast discussion.
In a recent Islamic podcast, Hamza reflected on the incident and said he received multiple warning calls and severe backlash from people who believed his remarks were inappropriate in relation to matters of faith.
He said the controversy began after he was asked about his certainty regarding beliefs about Allah, the Hereafter, and religion. He explained that he responded by affirming his belief in these concepts, while also stating that, as a human being, he had not experienced the afterlife and therefore could not claim absolute personal certainty in that sense.
Hamza said his comments were misunderstood by some people, leading to intense reactions. He claimed that certain individuals told him he had made a blasphemous statement and questioned his faith status.
He further said that some callers went as far as telling him to recite the Shahadah again and even claimed that his marriage would be considered invalid under their interpretation, urging him to renew it.
The actor said the experience was overwhelming and emotionally difficult, as he faced widespread criticism following the remarks.
Hamza emphasized that he continues to hold strong personal belief and clarified that his intention was not to offend or question religious fundamentals, but to express his personal understanding in a discussion format.
Known for his work in popular Pakistani dramas such as Pyare Afzal, Mann Mayal, and Alif, Hamza Ali Abbasi has in recent years become more focused on religious discourse and public speaking on spiritual topics.
He remains an active public figure with a large social media following and often shares content related to faith, personal reflection, and Islamic teachings.
