Sindh decides to modernise transport system by digitising documents

The Sindh government decided to modernise the transport system by completely digitising all route permits and vehicle fitness certificates across the province, it was reported on Wednesday.

A June 30, 2026 deadline is set for the complete digitisation of route permits and fitness certificates in Sindh.

According to Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inaam Memon, the Sindh Transport and Mass Transit Department has issued formal instructions to all relevant institutions.

The transport regulatory system is being made fully automated and digital to make document verification easy and secure.

All route permits and fitness certificates of commercial vehicles across the province are being transferred to the digital system.

Verifiable and online available documents will be provided to every vehicle owner and transporter.

Authorities have been directed to complete this process immediately in their respective jurisdictions.

All transporters should be informed in time so that they can start the registration process.

Field offices have been ordered to complete 1000 registrations daily.

After June 30, 2026, all manual route permits and fitness certificates will be considered invalid.

After the due date, only digital documents will be acceptable, and action will be taken against violating vehicles.

The Sindh government is promoting the use of modern technology in the transport sector.

Digitisation will also create convenience for citizens and transporters and will discourage fraud.
