The Pakistani government has announced a fresh increase in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, adding to the financial burden on consumers across the country.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been raised by Rs6.51 per litre. After the increase, petrol will now cost Rs399.86 per litre.
High-speed diesel has seen an even bigger jump. The government has increased its price by Rs19.39 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs399.58 per litre.
Officials said the revised prices will come into effect from 12 midnight tonight. The latest hike is expected to impact transportation costs and could lead to a rise in the prices of essential goods nationwide.
