Qatar LNG shipment reaches Strait of Hormuz for Pakistan

Pakistan is set to receive its third LNG shipment from Qatar within the last 15 days after Iranian authorities granted the vessel special permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, according to shipping sources.

The LNG carrier, named Mozah, is currently moving beyond Iran’s Hengam Island while continuing its journey toward Pakistan. The vessel loaded liquefied natural gas from Qatar’s major Ras Laffan export terminal before entering the strategically important waterway.

Shipping officials say Iran allowed the latest cargo to transit through the region despite heightened tensions and increased monitoring in the Gulf. The development highlights the importance of uninterrupted energy supplies for Pakistan, which relies heavily on imported LNG to meet domestic power and industrial demand.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical energy routes, carrying a significant share of global oil and gas exports every day.
