Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has strongly criticized what he described as “decisions made behind closed doors,” saying such policies are harming peace and stability in the province.
He made these remarks during his visit to Bannu on Monday, where he met the families of police personnel who were martyred in a recent terrorist attack on the Fateh Khel police post. The suicide blast claimed the lives of 15 police officials and left three others injured.
During the visit, the chief minister offered Fateha for the deceased officers and expressed solidarity with their families. He also went to the hospital to inquire about the condition of the injured personnel and directed authorities to ensure they receive the best possible medical care.
Afridi paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, saying they have consistently stood on the frontline against terrorism. He warned that growing militant threats in the region require serious attention and a unified response.
He further stated that the province has long faced the consequences of what he termed imposed policy decisions, claiming such approaches have contributed to ongoing instability over the years. According to him, repeated sacrifices by security forces demand a more transparent and effective strategy for lasting peace.
The chief minister emphasized that maintaining law and order remains the top priority of his government. He reiterated that the provincial administration and police will jointly continue efforts against terrorism and will resist any measures that undermine peace or the interests of the people.
Afridi added that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain and vowed to continue working toward restoring lasting peace and security across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
