The Senate on Thursday passed a plethora of legislations including Pakistan Airports Authority Bill, 2026.
In total, the Senate passed seven bills including the Fiscal Responsibility and Debt Limitation Amendment Bill, 2026, the Export-Import Bank of Pakistan Amendment Bill, 2026, Pakistan Infrastructure Development and Assets Management Authority, Bill, 2026, Islamabad Capital Territory Condominium (Ownership and Management) Bill, 2026 , the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) Amendment Bill, 2026, the Environmentally Sound Management of Inventory of Hazardous Material on Ships Bill, 2026 and Pakistan Airports Authority Amendment Bill, 2026.
Meanwhile, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that Pakistan and the UAE enjoy excellent longstanding relations.
Responding to a calling attention notice moved by Opposition Leader Raja Nasir Abbas and others in the Senate, the minister said there are about two million Pakistanis in the UAE.
He noted that the UAE is among the countries with which Pakistan enjoys deep people-to-people ties, adding that these relations are highly valued by the UAE.
He said that the UAE, being a sovereign and independent country, has taken some administrative action following the US-Iran conflict.
However, he strongly rejected that Pakistan was being singled out, describing such assertions as baseless propaganda.
Responding to a point of order, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary said that Punjab government has taken comprehensive action against the dacoits of Katcha areas, and no-go areas no longer exist in the province. He said the provincial government has also announced a development package for these areas.
