Two Pakistanis arrested in Italy over murder of four farm workers

Italian police have arrested two Pakistani nationals. They are accused of killing four fellow Pakistani farm workers. The victims were found dead inside a burnt minivan in southern Italy.

The incident took place in the Calabria region. The vehicle was discovered at a petrol station near the village of Amendolara. The area is known for large agricultural farms and migrant labour.

Investigators reviewed CCTV footage from the site. The footage reportedly shows two men blocking the minivan doors from outside. They are also seen pouring a flammable liquid into the vehicle.

Moments later, the minivan caught fire. The suspects then fled the scene. Firefighters arrived and managed to extinguish the blaze. After the fire was controlled, they recovered four bodies from inside the vehicle.

Police have launched a murder investigation. Officials believe the attack was intentional. However, the exact motive has not yet been confirmed.

A local police chief said the case clearly points to murder. He added that investigators are still working to determine full details of the incident.

Reports from local media suggest rising tensions in the region. There have been multiple cases of vehicle arson involving migrant workers in recent months. These incidents are linked to disputes over farm jobs, residency papers, and housing conditions.

Authorities are now examining whether this case is connected to wider conflicts among migrant labour groups in southern Italy’s farming sector. The investigation is ongoing.
