A man allegedly shot dead his wife and five children at their home in Wahdat Colony area of Quetta before attempting to take his own life, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Wahdat Colony Police Station.
According to police, the accused opened fire inside the house, killing six members of his family. The deceased included his wife, four daughters and a son.
After the shooting, the suspect allegedly attempted suicide and sustained serious injuries, police said.
Police and rescue teams reached the scene after receiving information about the incident and shifted the bodies and the injured suspect to a hospital.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances and motive behind the killings.
