Solar panel prices have increased ahead of the announcement of the new fiscal year’s budget, with market sources reporting significant hikes across different panel categories, it was reported on Tuesday.
The price of a solar system of 5-kilowatt to 15-kilowatt registered an increase of Rs200,000. A 5-kilowatt solar system is being sold at Rs650,000 after an increase of Rs150,000.
The price of a 7-kilowatt solar system is fixed at Rs825,000 after an increase of Rs200,000.
The price of a 10-kilowatt system has increased from Rs900,000 to Rs11,00,000. The price of a 12-kilowatt system increased to a record Rs1.25 million.
The price of a 15-kilowatt solar system rose to Rs14,50,000 from Rs13,00,000. The above-mentioned prices are fixed for the on-grid system only.
For off-grid systems, the cost of batteries has to be paid additionally.
