India’s own newspaper India Today exposed the atrocities of Indian security forces in Manipur.
Four protesters, including women, were injured when the Assam Rifles opened fire during a protest against the establishment of a new security post in Manipur.
According to India Today, the situation in Ukhrul district worsened following the Assam Rifles’ use of force against protesters. Security personnel resorted to aerial firing and baton charges against the protesters.
Participants in the demonstration demanded the immediate removal of the Assam Rifles post.
