During the conversation, the Iranian foreign minister also condemned recent US military attacks on Iran.
The statement added that Araghchi warned against any further US military “adventurism”.
Iran discusses Hormuz Strait with Oman and Turkey, says Iranian ministry
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held separate phone calls with his Omani and Turkish counterparts on Thursday and discussed latest developments in the region, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian foreign ministry said.
The parties stressed the need to use diplomatic channels to prevent escalation, a ministry statement said.
Iran fired ten ballistic missiles on Jordan’s Azraq military base
Iran fired 10 ballistic missiles at Jordan’s Azraq military base on Thursday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said in a statement carried by state media.
Jordan said earlier on Thursday that it had intercepted eight missiles launched from Iran, with no casualties or damage reported, according to the state news agency.
The Revolutionary Guards said US bases in the region would be targeted if “US aggression” was repeated.
UAE condemns Iranian attack on Gulf states
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) denounced Iranian attacks on Gulf countries and expressed solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain, Al Jazeera reported.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said: “These hostile attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait and a threat to their security and stability.”
