Polling for eight AJK assembly reserved seats set for August 24

MUZAFFARABAD: Nomination papers for elections to eight reserved seats of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly will be filed tomorrow, August 20, according to the election schedule.

Candidates will be able to submit their nomination papers from 8am to 2pm on August 20. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will also be conducted on the same day, followed by the publication of the candidates’ list.

Appeals against the nomination papers will be filed on August 21, while hearings on the appeals and decisions will be held on August 22.

According to the schedule, candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nominations on August 23, after which the final list of candidates will be issued.

Polling for the eight reserved seats of the AJK Assembly will be held on August 24. The polling process will take place from 10am to 1pm at the Assembly Hall, Block 12, Civil Secretariat, Muzaffarabad.

Of the eight reserved seats, five are reserved for women, one for Ulema and Mashaikh, one for overseas state subjects, and one for technocrats and professionals.
