The sons of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan have challenged the Pakistani government to allow an independent medical examination of their father, saying authorities should provide proof that he is in good health, it was reported on Tuesday.
Speaking regarding concerns about Imran Khan’s health, Qasim Khan and Sulaiman Khan said they would make every possible effort to secure their father’s release from jail.
Qasim said they were deeply concerned about their father’s health and called for an independent medical check-up if the government maintained that Imran Khan was completely healthy.
“If the government claims that our father is in perfect health, then let him undergo an independent medical examination and provide proof,” he said.
Qasim said he had also spoken to PTI supporters in the United States and that efforts had been made to seek a meeting with US President Donald Trump.
However, he said Trump currently had different priorities.
Sulaiman said he had always seen his father as a mentally strong and resilient person and had never known him to be easily worried or distressed.
However, he said reports about Imran Khan’s blood pressure and anxiety had caused serious concern for the family.
He said he and his brother last met their father on November 22, 2022, when Imran Khan was recovering after being shot, while their last telephone conversation with him took place in March 2026.
Sulaiman urged the government to provide the family with clear evidence that their father was in good health, saying this was their main concern.
The brothers said they would continue making every possible effort to seek their father’s release and ensure that his health concerns were independently addressed.
