PTV batter Muhammad Shahzad set a new record for the fastest first-class century by a Pakistani, reaching the milestone off just 49 balls on the opening day of the third round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I.
Shahzad broke the previous record held by former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who had scored a 56-ball first-class century against Australia.
The PTV batter went on to score 114 runs off 62 balls, hitting 12 fours and eight sixes.
His 49-ball hundred also became the eighth-fastest century in the history of first-class cricket.
The innings marked the sixth first-class century of Shahzad’s career.
PTV are playing Kingsmen Academy at the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad in the third round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I.
