Peshawar High Court has sought a response from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on a writ petition seeking the appointment of a Deputy Chief Minister or Additional Chief Minister.
The petition was filed by Advocate Saifullah Muhib Kakakhel.
According to the petitioner, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is busy in protests, long marches and political activities therfore it is need of the hour that deputy chief MInsiter should be appointed in KP so that he can look into the affiars of teh government.
The petitioner argued that the province’s administrative affairs and provision of basic public services require the constant attention of the provincial government.
The petitioner said an effective alternative arrangement in accordance with the Constitution and law should be in place to prevent disruption to the province’s day to day administrative and public affairs.
The high court has sought the provincial government’s response on the petition.
