LAHORE: Former Pakistan captain and legendary all-rounder Wasim Akram has declined an offer to join the Afghanistan Premier League.
According to sources, Akram was offered a mentorship role in the league but decided not to accept it.
Sources said Akram chose not to go against the Pakistan Cricket Board’s policy, which bars national cricketers from participating in the Afghanistan Premier League without an NOC.
The PCB had earlier decided not to issue NOCs to national cricketers for the tournament. Sources said Akram’s decision was made in view of that policy.
