Do couples need parenting plan first? Naimal Khawar’s advice

Actress-turned-artist Naimal Khawar – who is married to renowned actor Hamza Ali Abbasi –  has emphasized the importance of discussing children and parenting responsibilities before tying the knot.

Speaking on Zara Noor Abbas’s show, Khawar shared insights from her journey of marriage, motherhood, and personal growth.

Known for her captivating performance in the drama serial Anaa, Khawar left acting after her marriage to Abbasi and has since focused on her art career and raising their son, Mustafa Abbasi.

Reflecting on her transition to motherhood, Khawar stressed the life-altering impact of having children, advising couples to have open, practical discussions about parenting roles and expectations.

“Children change your entire life,” she noted, adding that she and Hamza had decided on their roles before Mustafa’s birth. As a result, Khawar took on the responsibilities of managing the household and raising their son, while Abbasi assumed the role of the family’s primary breadwinner.

She also addressed the challenges of strained relationships, advocating for respectful separations when marriages become toxic.

“If things aren’t going well in a marriage, it’s better to part ways rather than raising children in an unhealthy environment,” Khawar remarked, highlighting the potential psychological impact of a discordant home on children.
