Bollywood star Nora Fatehi’s glamour has long fascinated fans — but in one disturbing case, it allegedly turned into the nightmare of a newlywed woman in Uttar Pradesh.
A 26-year-old woman from Muradnagar has accused her husband, a 28-year-old physical education teacher from Meerut, of being so obsessed with Fatehi that he forced her into grueling three-hour gym sessions every day so she could “look like” the actress.
If she resisted, she claims, he restricted her food to stop her from gaining weight.
Taunts and dowry pressure
The woman, married in March this year, told police her husband frequently mocked her appearance, saying his life was ruined because he could have married someone who resembled Nora Fatehi.
Despite her family reportedly spending nearly ₹75 lakh on the wedding — including a Mahindra Scorpio, jewellery, and cash — the complaint alleges that her in-laws continued to harass her for more dowry.
Forced miscarriage allegation
In a shocking turn, the woman alleged she became pregnant two months ago but was tricked into taking an abortion pill given by her husband. She soon suffered a miscarriage and had to be hospitalised. Later, in July, she said her in-laws barred her from entering the family home.
Police have registered an FIR against the husband and his parents under sections related to dowry harassment, humiliation, and forced abortion.
“The investigation is underway, and we are verifying all the allegations,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Dhawal Jaiswal told Times of India.
