Khalilur Rehman Qamar dismisses Nadia Khan’s acting skills

Renowned playwright and poet Khalilur Rehman Qamar has hit back at criticism directed toward his dramas, saying that some popular celebrities comment on his work “without reason.”

Speaking on a YouTube channel, Qamar singled out Nadia Khan, saying she has “nothing to do with acting” and lacks proficiency in both Urdu and English.

“I have never even thought of working with her,” he said, adding that the Pakistani drama industry is rooted in Urdu and requires actors to master the language.

Comments on Maria Khan and Atiqa Odho

The writer also addressed remarks made by senior actresses Maria Khan and Atiqa Odho, saying he had not yet collaborated with them but respected their long careers.

“I watched Maria Khan’s Tanhaiyan and Dhoop Kinare, while I remember seeing Atiqa Odho in Dasht or Najat. InshaAllah, if they improve their Urdu, I would like to work with them,” Qamar said, expressing hope that they would one day be satisfied with his work.

Known for some of the biggest hits in Pakistani television, Qamar has written several widely acclaimed dramas, including Pyare AfzalMere Paas Tum HoSadqay Tumhare, and his recent project Mein Manto Nahi Hoon.
