The current wave of inflation continued to affect the poor people of Pakistan after the devastating floods, as shopkeepers and mill owners artificially raised the prices of rice from Rs2000 to Rs2500 per mound, it was reported on Monday.
A shopkeeper said that there is no shortage of rice in the country, and the new rice crop has not reached the market. People are upset due to the sudden rise in the price of rice in the country.
They demanded that the current government take notice of this artificial shortage of rice and award exemplary punishment to those who are involved in the artificial shortage of rice in the country.
They further demanded that the government adopt immediate measures to bring down the rice prices.
