Kartarpur lights up as Sikh pilgrims arrive for Baisakhi

Sikh pilgrims from around the world have arrived at Kartarpur Corridor to take part in the annual Baisakhi celebrations, marking a major religious and cultural gathering in Pakistan.

The pilgrims were warmly received by district administration officials upon their arrival. Flower petals were showered as a gesture of hospitality, reflecting the spirit of respect and goodwill extended to visiting guests.

Officials from the local administration, including senior district officers, welcomed the pilgrims and ensured smooth arrangements for their stay and participation in the religious festivities.

The Deputy Commissioner of Narowal said that Pakistan takes pride in hosting Sikh pilgrims and providing a peaceful environment for their religious observances. He described the country as a land committed to harmony, tolerance, and interfaith respect.

He added that the arrival of international pilgrims strengthens cultural ties and promotes messages of peace and unity across borders.

Meanwhile, a large group of Sikh pilgrims also reached Nankana Sahib earlier to participate in Baisakhi events. The group was led by community representatives and transported through special arrangements made by authorities.

Security measures were significantly enhanced across all pilgrimage sites to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors. Officials confirmed that the arrangements include transportation, accommodation, and guided access to religious sites.

Pilgrims also arrived via the Wagah Border, where they were received by government representatives and members of the Evacuee Trust Property Board. The delegation was later escorted to different gurdwaras across Punjab.

The main Baisakhi ceremonies were held at various historic Sikh religious sites, including Gurdwara Panja Sahib, as part of the multi-day celebrations.
