A news conference in Quetta on Saturday by top Balochistan officials has exposed the dark reality of how women are being weaponized for terrorism.
The arrest of a potential female suicide bomber reveals a calculated cycle of exploitation where groups like the BLA and BLF recruit and train women, while the Balochistan Yakjehti Council (BYC) handles the initial radicalization and subsequent propaganda.
The details regarding Manzoor Ahmed were particularly harrowing as he acted as a handler and deliberately used his wife, Raheema Bibi, as a shield by using her phone to coordinate with terrorist outfits.
They even hosted a suicide bomber named Zarina Rafiq in their home before Manzoor sent her to Afghanistan for training.
This confirms that many so-called missing persons are actually being moved across the border to training camps, the officials said and added these practices are a complete betrayal of Baloch culture and religious values.
“It is a cynical strategy: if these women succeed, they are hailed as symbols; if they are caught, the groups disown them and shift the blame to the state, they said and added “This evidence highlights the urgent need to stop the use of Afghan soil for destabilizing Pakistan and to protect women from such brutal exploitation.”
Spokesman for the Balochistan Government Babar Yousafzai advised parents to keep an eye on the activities of their children.
Addressing the press conference in Quetta with DIG CTD sitting alongside him, he said that parents should also properly investigate the backgrounds of boys before marrying off their girls to them because there had been instances in which girls were used for acts of terrorism.
He further said that terrorism had nothing to do with any religion or ethnic group. Yousafzai said that terrorists were defaming Balochistan.
