United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson held a telephone conversation to discuss the Middle East conflict.
According to a report, the two leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations between the UAE and Sweden, with particular focus on enhancing mutual co-operation. Discussions placed emphasis on expanding collaboration in key sectors including the economy, renewable energy, sustainability, technology and artificial intelligence, which form part of both nations’ development priorities.
During the call, both sides reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen Emirati-Swedish ties and broaden development partnerships in line with shared interests. It was agreed that co-operation in these areas would not only improve bilateral relations but also contribute to wider goals of sustainable development and economic prosperity.
The tense situation in the Middle East also remained a central subject of the conversation.
The report stated that the leaders reviewed ongoing developments in the region, their potential impact on regional and international peace and security, the protection of maritime routes, energy supplies, and pressures on the global economy.
Both sides exchanged perspectives on these matters, indicating that the contact extended beyond bilateral ties and held significance in the broader context of regional stability.
The communication took place at a time when concerns related to security, trade, energy and global supply chains in the region remain the focus of international attention. In this context, high-level engagement between the UAE and Sweden carries diplomatic importance, particularly as the effects of regional fluctuations on the global economy and international maritime transport continue to be closely observed.
