Young Pakistani stars Aashir Wajahat and Samar Jafri shared their candid and unfiltered opinions on music, songwriting, band culture, and singers stepping into acting.
The ‘Tum Na Ho’ duo appeared in a fun filled conversation where they exchanged musical hot takes and opened up about the evolving entertainment industry in Pakistan.
Kicking off the discussion, Aashir Wajahat asked Samar about his views on singers writing their own songs. Responding thoughtfully, Samar Jafri said: “Mein nay yeh cheez feel ki hai ke jab app kisi or ke likhi hoi cheez gaa rahay hotay ho tou probably app emotion nahi day paaty gaanay ko” (I’ve felt that when you sing lyrics written by someone else, you probably cannot deliver the same emotion to the song).
Agreeing to this Aashir said “Audience artist kay gaanay kay sath what’s the artist want to say uski bhi fan hoti hai”.
The discussion later shifted toward Pakistan’s band culture, where Samar asked Aashir for his opinion on its current decline. Reflecting on the trend, Aashir stated: “Dunya bhar mein band culture thora sa kam hogya hai, but I’m someone who loves that kind of music and I would love to see band culture more in Pakistan.” (Band culture has declined around the world, but I personally love that style of music and would love to see it grow more in Pakistan).
Towards the end of the chat, the duo touched upon musicians becoming actors. When asked for his hot take, Samar jokingly remarked: “ matlab agar hum isko us tarha say dekhay to hum sab hi acting kar rahay hain. Mujey lagta hay jab hum music ko time nahi detay to wo sabko nazar a rha hota hai” (when artists fail to dedicate enough time to music, audiences can immediately sense it). A point Aashir wholeheartedly agreed with.
The lighthearted yet insightful conversation ended with both stars thanking fans for continuously supporting their music and projects.
It is worthy to mention that Aashir and Samar both played role in hit drama serials. Aashir did Pinjra, Kafeel, khwabon mein mili. Along with this he also has done many commercials for brands such as Blueband, Dalda, Telenor, Dollar pencil.
Meanwhile, Samar Jafri drama appearances include Mayi ri, Parwarish, Hum dono, Mein kahani hun. And currently, he is gearing up for ‘Raja London Ka’.
