Pakistan Railways announced to outsource 15 passenger and express trains, it was reported on Wednesday.
The approval for the outsourcing of trains was granted during a meeting that was held at the Railways Headquarters in Lahore.
The trains that will be outsourced include Hazara Express, Awam Express, Karachi Express, Millat Express, Bahauddin Zikriya Express, Farid Express, Karakorum Express, Ravi Express, Lasani Express, Thal Express, Sukkur Express, Mianwali Express, Sialkot Express, Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Narowal passenger trains also included in the list.
The management of Pakistan Railways directed interested parties to submit their bids by May 25, 2026.
Sources said that due to inefficiency and wrong policies of the majority of Pakistan Railways officials, the outsourcing process failed previously.
The private sector showed its dissatisfaction over the assignment of a benchmark that exceeds annual income.
Now, the Railways commercial officials are trying to take another chance to outsource the trains.
