After a notice taken by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the third meeting of the High-Level Task Force, established to investigate HIV cases, was chaired by Minister of State for Health Dr. Mukhtar and Co-Chairman of the Task Force Dr. Azhar Mahmood Kayani.
The Task Force members, federal and provincial institutions, health experts, relevant stakeholders attended the meeting. In the Task Force meeting, clear responsibilities were assigned to technical partners. Additional Secretary Health, CIO, DRAP, VC, Health Services Academy were also present in the meeting.
Task Force has decided to take targeted measures to control the spread of HIV in the country. It was agreed that the draft of the National Public Health Law will be shared with all Task Force members for consensus. A comprehensive rapid assessment/survey methodology will be developed to estimate the potential spread.
