Punjab reviews security arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha and Muharram

An important meeting of the Provincial Intelligence Committee was held at the Home Department under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique to review the overall law and order situation across Punjab and security arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha and Muharram-ul-Haram.
Secretary Home Punjab Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi attended the meeting along with representatives of CTD, Special Branch, and other law enforcement agencies. Additional Secretary Internal Security Maham Asif and other senior officers were also present, while all commissioners and Regional Police Officers (RPOs) participated through video link.
During the meeting, a detailed review of the province-wide law and order situation was conducted, with special focus on security measures for Eid-ul-Adha and Muharram-ul-Haram. Home Secretary Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi briefed participants on the latest security situation and ongoing measures being taken to maintain peace across the province.
Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the law and order situation in Punjab remains satisfactory and that foolproof security arrangements would be ensured during Eid-ul-Adha. He said instructions had been issued for the prompt disposal of applications related to the collection of sacrificial animal hides and warned that illegal organizations would not be allowed to collect sacrificial skins.
The meeting also reviewed security measures for Muharram-ul-Haram. Khawaja Salman Rafique emphasized that the role of religious scholars and peace committees is highly important in maintaining harmony and ensuring peace during the religious occasions.
Home Secretary Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi stated that the Punjab government is making comprehensive security arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha and Muharram-ul-Haram. He added that strict action is being taken against elements attempting to disturb law and order and that the Home Department is closely coordinating with all relevant institutions to ensure peaceful observance of both occasions across the province.
