PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar has submitted his statement in the case related to the alleged harassment and death threats involving actress Momina Iqbal, claiming that the allegations against him are false and unfounded.
According to the statement submitted to the NCCIA, Saqib Chadhar said he met Momina Iqbal in 2020 and that the two soon developed close relations. He claimed they travelled together on several domestic and international trips, with him bearing all the expenses.
He further alleged that Momina Iqbal and her family concealed details about her previous marriage and divorce and that he refused to marry her after learning about the matter.
Saqib Chadhar stated that he ended his relationship with Momina Iqbal in August 2025. He also alleged that Momina Iqbal’s sister, Rimsha Iqbal, received 10,000 Australian dollars through blackmail and that he paid 13,000 Australian dollars for her university fee. He further claimed that Rs8.3 million had been transferred to Momina Iqbal’s account at different times.
In his statement, the MPA alleged that numerous photographs and videos were stored on Momina Iqbal’s mobile phone and that “some individuals” threatened to make them public. The MPA said he had asked Momina Iqbal and her sister not to share the content and maintained that she was fully aware that he was married. He also claimed that call data records were available.
He further stated that the complaint submitted to the NCCIA and police contained contradictions and false statements. According to him, Momina Iqbal’s husband, Hamza, issued death threats against him and a case in this regard had been registered in Chiniot. He described the actress’s application as false and baseless.
Meanwhile, the Sessions Court in Lahore has issued a written order approving the interim bail of Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Samira. Additional Sessions Judge Irfan Ahmed Sheikh directed both applicants to join the investigation and submit surety bonds of Rs50,000 each. The order also requires them to appear before the court on every hearing until a final decision on the bail plea.
It is pertinent to mention that the NCCIA has registered a case against Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Samira.
