The United Kingdom has selected 11 business projects in Pakistan under the Climate Finance Accelerator program.
The initiative is supported by the UK government. It aims to promote climate-focused investment in Pakistan.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott said Pakistan is highly vulnerable to climate change. She added that the country also has strong innovation potential and skilled human resources.
The projects have been selected across several key sectors. These include energy, transport, waste management, agriculture, and green financing. The focus is on climate-friendly and sustainable development solutions.
According to a statement from the British High Commission, the Climate Finance Accelerator program is designed to support investment readiness in Pakistan. It helps businesses prepare for international funding opportunities.
The program has already helped mobilize around 40 million US dollars in investment within Pakistan. This reflects growing international interest in climate-related projects in the country.
Selected companies will now receive technical and financial advisory support. This assistance will continue for a period of five months.
The aim is to strengthen business models and improve project viability. The companies will also be guided on structuring investment proposals.
After the preparation phase, the shortlisted projects will be showcased to global investors. This presentation is scheduled for October 2026.
Officials say the program is expected to improve access to climate finance. It also aims to scale up sustainable development initiatives in Pakistan.
