Law-enforcement agencies’ personnel have arrested five suspects during an intelligence-based operation in Azad Kashmir capital of Muzaffarabad and seized hi-tech equipment suggesting they have links with a hostile intelligence agency, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The successful operation in Muzaffarabad based on intelligence leads resulted in five suspects arrested and laptops, mobile phones, and other communication devices were seized.
Law-enforcement agencies conducted the targeted operation in the Chehla area of Muzaffarabad on a tip-off.
Initial investigations revealed suspicious connections and sensitive material extracted from the seized digital devices.
During interrogation, following the identification of one suspect, a large cache of weapons was also recovered which included seven automatic firearms, multiple grenades, and other combat equipment.
Maps of sensitive installations and alleged attack plans were also seized. Documents and records related to sensitive locations were found in the possession of the suspects.
Evidence of alleged contacts with an enemy intelligence agency also became part of the investigation.
Forensic and technical analysis of the recovered mobile phones, laptops, and other materials was underway.
Investigators are scrutinizing potential facilitators, sources of financial support, and the broader network.
The timely operation has safeguarded sensitive installations and public safety from potential threats.
No activity against state security, public peace, and national interests will be tolerated under any circumstances.
Strict action in accordance with the law will be taken against elements involved in activities against the national security.
