ISLAMABAD: Power distribution companies across Pakistan have introduced a redesigned electricity bill format aimed at improving clarity, transparency, and consumer understanding.
The new format has been rolled out under the Ministry of Energy’s reform agenda to make billing information easier to read and more user-friendly.
Officials said the updated bill design focuses on simplicity and better presentation of key details. Consumers will now be able to clearly see their electricity consumption, total charges, and payment deadlines without confusion.
Authorities said the previous bill format was often considered complex and difficult to understand. It included excessive technical information and a crowded layout, which created difficulties for many users in identifying essential details.
In response to public complaints and stakeholder feedback, the ministry decided to redesign the entire billing structure to improve accessibility and transparency.
The revised bill now presents information in a more organised format. Important details such as billing amount, due date, and unit consumption are displayed more prominently.
Officials said the simplified layout reduces visual clutter and makes the document easier to understand for consumers from all backgrounds.
The new bills also include QR codes, allowing users to access additional digital services and detailed billing information through mobile devices.
The Energy Ministry said the reform is part of broader efforts to improve service delivery and strengthen consumer trust in the power sector.
It added that feedback from consumers played a key role in shaping the new format and will continue to guide future improvements.
