Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman on Friday visited Kahna to meet the families of children who lost their lives in the recent tuition centre roof collapse, it was reported on Friday.
During the visit, Hafiz Naeem prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the 14 children who lost their lives in the incident and expressed sympathy with their grieving parents and relatives.
He was accompanied by Ziauddin Advocate and other Jamaat-e-Islami office-bearers, who also met the affected families and assured them of their support during this difficult time.
Speaking to the media, he expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of children, saying the loss of “flower-like children” had left the nation heartbroken.
Three days after the tragic incident in Kahna, people continued to visit the affected area to offer condolences and express solidarity with the bereaved families.
Hafiz Naeem alleged that the poor condition of roads delayed rescue efforts, causing several injured children to die before reaching medical facilities.
He said the locality lacked basic infrastructure and essential public services, adding that the road was only repaired ahead of the chief minister’s visit.
