Field Marshal Asim Munir on Monday presided over the 276th Corps Commanders Conference (CCC) at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where the top military leadership reviewed the prevailing security environment and reaffirmed its commitment to combating terrorism and safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty.
According to a statement issued by the ISPR, the forum offered Fateha for the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and innocent civilians, stating that their sacrifices remain the foundation of Pakistan’s security, unity and resilience. The participants also expressed satisfaction with the operational preparedness, professionalism and combat readiness of the Pakistani armed forces.
The conference expressed serious concern over the continued use of territory under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime by Indian-sponsored terrorist groups, including Fitna al Khawarij (FAK) and Fitna al Hindustan (FAH), to orchestrate attacks inside Pakistan. The forum maintained that lasting peace and stability in the region depend on preventing the use of Afghan Taliban-controlled territory by Indian terrorist proxies, adding that the Afghan Taliban regime bears direct responsibility in this regard.
The military leadership reiterated that Pakistan has an unequivocal right to defend its people against terrorism and said the armed forces would continue intelligence-based operations against terrorist threats emanating from Afghan Taliban-controlled territory under the ambit of Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq.
Besides kinetic operations, the forum stressed the immediate need to establish robust governance structures in restive areas focused on public service and welfare, while breaking what it described as the terror-crime nexus operating under vested political patronage.
The participants noted that following the comprehensive defeat inflicted in Marka-e-Haq, hostile elements have increasingly relied on externally supported hybrid warfare and disinformation campaigns to create unrest. The forum condemned all forms of state-supported financing, facilitation and sponsorship of proxy groups, affirming that any attempt to destabilize Pakistan through hybrid means would be countered with strategic clarity and firm resolve.
Reviewing the evolving regional situation, the conference appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting dialogue, de-escalation and regional stability. It reaffirmed the country’s commitment to peaceful conflict resolution, respect for international law and enhanced regional cooperation to address shared security challenges.
The forum also reviewed Indian rhetoric regarding the Indus Waters Treaty and reaffirmed the guidance issued in the National Security Committee directive of April 24, 2025. It expressed a firm commitment to undertake all necessary measures to ensure Pakistan receives its rightful share of water in accordance with government directives and the aspirations of the people.
The military leadership strongly condemned ongoing human rights violations and what it termed unilateral demographic engineering in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reiterating that Kashmir remains the jugular vein of Pakistan. The forum reaffirmed Pakistan’s diplomatic, political and moral support for the Kashmiri cause and emphasized that lasting regional stability depends on granting the people of Kashmir their right to self-determination in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
In his concluding remarks, Field Marshal Asim Munir directed commanders to expedite implementation of the military’s multi-domain transformation plan in line with the evolving character of warfare. He also instructed commanders to maintain the highest standards of vigilance, operational readiness and professional excellence while ensuring integrated responses to conventional, sub-conventional and hybrid threats to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and national interests.
