An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday adjourned hearings on the bail applications of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders Dr. Yasmin Rashid and former Punjab governor Omar Sarfaraz Cheema until Aug. 13 after their lawyers sought more time to present arguments.
Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Manzar Ali Gul heard the applications and directed defence lawyers to complete their arguments at the next hearing.
The accused’s counsel told the court that the senior lawyer engaged for the case had not yet appeared and requested an adjournment.
Rashid has sought bail in two cases, including one related to the attack on Askari Tower.
Cheema has filed bail applications in three cases, including those linked to the attacks on Jinnah House and Askari Tower.
The cases stem from the violence that erupted on May 9, 2023, following the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Further proceedings on the bail pleas will resume on Aug. 13.
