Pakistan’s textile exports reach $17.93 billion in fiscal year 2025-26

Pakistan’s textile exports have climbed up to $17.93 billion during the fiscal year 2025-26, said a report released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Thursday.

Overall textile exports declined by 0.26 percent during the fiscal year. However, exports of other textile products increased by 8.67 percent to $790.8 million. The growth was mainly driven by a surge in readymade garment exports. Exports of ready-made garments rose by 3.87 percent to $4.288 billion, compared to $4.13 billion a year earlier.

A significant rise was also recorded in cotton yarn exports during financial year 2025-26. Cotton yarn exports soared by 12.40 percent to $765 million, up from $680 million in the previous financial year.

Raw cotton exports saw an extraordinary 199 percent boom during fiscal year 2025-26. Exports reached $2.6 million, compared to $871,000 in last fiscal year.

Several major textile products, however, recorded a decline in exports during the fiscal year. Exports of textile products excluding towels and bedwear fell by 0.71 percent to $770 million.

Knitwear exports declined by 0.88 percent to $4.966 billion, while bedwear exports recorded a marginal decrease of 0.01 percent to $3.11 billion.

Towel exports fell by 1.93 percent to $1.06 billion, while cotton cloth exports dropped 7.55 percent to $1.67 billion. Exports of tents, canvas and tarpaulin also slashed by 3.81 percent to $120 million.

On a year-on-year basis, textile exports declined by 16.71 percent in June 2026. Exports stood at $1.267 billion during the month, compared to $1.521 billion in June 2025.
