The market opened on a positive note during the second trading session of the week, with the benchmark index initially gaining around 100 points to reach 180,602.
However, selling pressure intensified during the trading session, pushing the market sharply lower. The bearish trend persisted until the close.
The KSE-100 Index ultimately settled at 177,955, registering a decline of 2,546 points.
The previous trading session had ended on a positive note, with the benchmark index gaining 397 points to close at 180,502.
