BARKHAN: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel have gunned down 10 terrorists of Fitna al-Hindustan in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan, it was reported on Saturday.
According to the details, after receiving a credible intelligence report, CTD conducted an operation in the Barkhan area of Rahrah Rashim.
During the operation, CTD personnel recovered a large quantity of arms, ammunition, and explosive material from their possession, while two CTD personnel were also injured.
Security forces, police, and the Counter-Terrorism Department Balochistan are fully determined to eliminate terrorism in the country.
In his statement, the provincial home department adviser Babar Yousafzai paid tribute to the police, CTD and other security institutions for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
He added that the entire nation stood alongside the security forces and police in the fight against terrorism, expressing resolve that efforts against elements hostile to peace in the province would continue.
According to security sources, a substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered during the operation. Further details about the recovered material were not immediately available.
Balochistan continues to face security challenges posed by armed terrorist groups. Security forces and law enforcement agencies have conducted intelligence-based operations in different parts of the province as part of efforts to counter terrorist activity and maintain law and order.
