ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Committee on Disposal of Legislative Affairs, chaired by Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, has approved draft legal amendments concerning the petroleum levy and climate support levy, it was reported on Friday.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Bilal Azhar Kiani and senior officials from relevant ministries and divisions.
The committee also approved recommendations and proposals to increase fines and penalties for overloading. It granted in-principle approval to the National Highways and Motorway Police Seniority Rules 2026.
In addition, the committee approved proposed rules for the establishment and functioning of the Asaan Karobar Technical Unit and the Pakistan Regulatory Registry, the statement said.
The approved draft legislation will now be presented to the relevant forums for further proceedings.
